The hepatitis B vaccine birth dose provides a "safety net" for the prevention of perinatal and early childhood infection. The NYS, outside of NYC, hepatitis B birth dose rate for 2021 was 83%. Twenty-seven of the NYS birth hospitals have a 2021 birth dose rate of 90% or greater! Rome Hospital and Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) both have a 90% or higher for the 2021 year. Thank you to you and your staff for your dedicated effort to maintain and improve the birth dose rate in your community. The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) honor roll provides national recognition to hospitals and birthing centers that have achieved high coverage rates both Rome Hospital and MVHS 2021 birth dose rate is 90% or greater and meets the IAC Hepatitis B birth dose honor roll criteria.
