The Oneida County Department of Mental Health is responsible for the direction and administrative oversight of the substance use programs in Oneida County. Such responsibility includes ensuring that Oneida County programs are in compliance with New York State and Federal rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Given that the Department does not provide any direct treatment, contracts are regularly maintained with local agencies to provide essential services in Oneida County. The Department of Mental Health serves as a mediator between the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), New York State Office of Addiction Supports and Services (OASAS), and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).
