Drones
Drones continue to be used in our professional work with a great deal of success with a team of certified commercial pilots on staff. Our pilots continue to work and learn as they incorporate the safest and smartest mission practices while following evolving FAA regulations regarding the use of drones.
Our department has used drones to map flood damage, bridge and road construction, economic development sites, and much more. With these drone flights we collect aerial imagery as well as derive topographic surface elevations for site analysis, planning, and development. This is invaluable information as we look to provide the best current data and services for Herkimer and Oneida Counties.
