2022 Utica University Men's Basketball Clinic
On Sunday, December 4th the Oneida County Youth Bureau in partnership with the Utica University Pioneer Men’s Basketball program offered a FREE clinic for youth ages 8-17 in the Todd & Jen Hutton Recreation Center. In year five of this partnership, we served over 150 youth while providing the kids a first class facility and enthusiastic environment to have fun and learn. Over the course of our 5 year partnership the Utica Men’s Basketball program have given back, through volunteerism, to over 650 Oneida County youth!
Head Basketball Coach Sean Coffey stated, “opportunities like this clinic for our Utica University student-athletes are exactly what we strive to do for our community.” Coach Coffey added, “It was an awesome day to give back to the city on our chest, Utica.”
Participants were drilled on playing defense and movement, shooting technique, ball handling skills and much more! All along, the Pioneer players were instructing each age group with energy and genuine excitement.
At the conclusion of the clinic youth participants received a certificate of completion and were treated to an autograph session from the players. This event was a huge success and we would like to thank Coach Sean Coffey, his players and Utica University Athletic Director Dave Fontaine for hosting this very positive and inspiring opportunity for Oneida County’s youth!
