- 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024
Rome Capitol Theatre

“Oneida County is proud to support the Broadway Theatre League of Utica in bringing this holiday classic to as many students as possible,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “These events not only foster a love for the arts among our children, but also strengthen the bonds within our community. I encourage every educator and district to take part in this magical experience and make lasting memories that will be cherished beyond the holiday season.”
"We are excited to provide this opportunity for our local students to experience the joy of 'The Polar Express' during the holiday season, and we thank Oneida County for the generosity that has made it possible," said Danielle Padula, Executive Director of the Broadway Theatre League of Utica. "We have seen the power that the arts play in the development of young minds and how it can bring many people together. As adults, being able to attend shows at either theatre is something that we may take for granted, but for a lot of the youth attending 'The Polar Express' this will be their very first time stepping in these historic buildings.”
Each student in attendance for the performances at The Stanley and Rome Capitol Theatre will receive a custom Oneida County "Polar Express" bookmark and will be provided with complimentary popcorn and water during the movie, enhancing this experience. Children are encouraged to enjoy the movie in comfort, by wearing their pajamas. There might even be some special guests in attendance as well.
Broadway Theatre League of Utica is committed to bringing thousands of students to The Stanley Theatre and Rome Capitol Theatre through various efforts and partnerships, such as the collaboration with Oneida County. Broadway Utica believes that financial status should never be a barrier to experiencing the transformative power of theater.
