Oneida County & Broadway Utica Bring the Magic of 'Elf' to Local Students

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s Polar Express partnership, Oneida County and Broadway Theatre League of Utica are teaming up once again to deliver holiday magic to local students — this time with the beloved Christmas classic, a holiday must watch, Elf.

Through Broadway Utica’s UticaWorx Program, and the full funding of Oneida County, nearly 3,000 students across various school districts will enjoy free screenings of Elf on the big screen:

• Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 10:30 AM – The Stanley Theatre, Utica
• Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 10:30 AM – Rome Capitol Theatre, Rome

Oneida County's support of these special shows will allow children across the region to experience the joy of the holidays inside two of the Mohawk Valley’s most iconic theatres. Each student will receive complimentary admission along with popcorn, a candy cane, an Elf-themed name tag and a commemorative Oneida County snow globe to take home.

“Oneida County is proud to support the Broadway Theatre League of Utica in bringing this holiday classic to as many students as possible,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “Events like these not only foster a love for the arts among our children but also strengthen the bonds within our community.”

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Oneida County to make this magical experience possible,” said Danielle Padula, Executive Director of Broadway Utica. “After last year’s Polar Express, we saw firsthand how the arts can inspire young minds, unite communities, and create lasting memories. Elf continues that mission — reminding every student that spreading cheer is one of the best gifts of all.”

Students are encouraged to wear their pajamas, just like Buddy the Elf, to fully enjoy the holiday spirit. Schools are responsible for arranging transportation. Space is limited, and completing the registration form does not guarantee a spot.
