Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. announced today, that effective immediately, applications for the relief fund to assist victims of the June 22, 2025 tornado and storms have closed.

The County is currently processing over 550 applications to the Clark Mills, Town of Kirkland and Affected Areas Storm Relief Fund — a  partnership with the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties— that offered up to $5,000 of assistance to cover insurance deductibles, electrical hook-ups, home security measures, relocation costs, moderate repairs, tree removal and dumpster rentals.

“The EF1 tornado and storms that devastated Clark Mills, Kirkland, Rome and many other areas of the County, tragically took the lives of three of our residents and left hundreds of others with damage to their properties,” Picente said. “We hope that the fund we set up through the Community Foundation was able to ease at least some of the burden that this severe weather placed on our community.”

The hotline Oneida County set up to assist residents with tornado & storm damage associated with the June 22nd weather event has also closed effective immediately.

Private donations to the Clark Mills, Town of Kirkland and Affected Areas Storm Relief Fund are still being accepted through the Community Foundation by clicking here.
