Oneida County Reports No New COVID-19 Cases
Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. announced that Oneida County is reporting no new positive COVID-19 cases today for the first time since Sept. 24, 2020.
“It has been a long, hard road, but we are finally getting to the end of this pandemic,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “While having a day with no new positive cases feels like victory, we must continue to keep pushing forward with all of our resolve. Vaccinations are turning the tide of this crisis and are the key to its end. Please get vaccinated if you are eligible and haven’t already done so. It’s safe and it’s working.”
Wednesday’s report featured the lowest three-day average case count (2) since March 26, 2020 and the lowest seven-day average positivity rate (0.3%) since the week of September 22nd. June is on track to be the lowest monthly positivity rate (0.7%) since last October (0.6%).
The county has reported no deaths since June 16th, and this month is the lowest monthly total, with five so far, since October, when there were four. The number of hospitalizations reported on Wednesday (3) were also the lowest since October 15th (1).
Over 116,000 first dose shots have been administered to Oneida County residents ages 12 and over, equaling 59% of that population. Fifty four percent of those 12 and up are fully vaccinated.

Oneida County will cease posting daily COVID-19 updates and sending them out to media outlets after June 25th.
