Oneida County Seeks Community Input Through Health Survey

MVHS & Rome Health Partnership Assesses Status & Need

County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. today announced the launch of a survey that will provide a comprehensive overview of the health of Oneida County residents and a snapshot of the health status, resources and needs of the community.

“The Community Health Assessment Survey helps us to check the pulse of our community and better address its needs,” Picente said. “Being that this is the first assessment conducted since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be especially important in gaining vital information from our residents. I encourage everyone to give us their input so that we can better understand what health issues we have and formulate a plan to address them.”

The Community Health Assessment Survey is a joint venture between the Oneida County Health Department, Mohawk Valley Health System and Rome Health that is executed every three years.

All Oneida County residents 18 years and older are encouraged to take the Community Health Assessment Survey on the Health Department’s page on the Oneida County website by clicking here. The survey is based off of the New York State Department of Health’s Prevention Agenda and is conducted by Research Marketing Strategies and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The data compiled from the survey will be used by the Oneida County Health Department to develop a health improvement plan for its residents that determines where resources are allocated. It will be shared with local health agencies, organizations, groups and partnerships to use as a guide for their own strategic planning.
