County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. announced the launch of a survey today that will collect a comprehensive overview of the health of Oneida County residents and provide a snapshot of the health status, resources and needs of the community.

“The Community Health Assessment Survey helps us to check the pulse of our community and better address its needs,” Picente said. “I encourage everyone to give us their input so that we can better understand what health issues we have and formulate a plan to address them.”

The Community Health Assessment Survey is a joint venture between the Oneida County Health Department, Mohawk Valley Health System and Rome Health.

All Oneida County residents 18 years and older are encouraged to take the Community Health Assessment Survey on the Health Department’s page on the Oneida County website by clicking here.

The survey is based on the New York State Department of Health’s Prevention Agenda and is conducted by Research Marketing Strategies. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous and confidential. The survey will remain open through August 8, 2025. It is available in English and Spanish.

Paper copies of the survey are also available and can be both requested and submitted to the Oneida County Health Department by calling 315-798-6400 or emailing publichealth@oneidacountyny.gov.

The data collected will be used by the Oneida County Health Department to develop a health improvement plan for its residents that determines where resources are allocated. It will be shared with local health agencies, organizations, groups and partnerships to use as a guide for their own strategic planning.

"We strongly urge all community members to complete this survey as it is a critical part of identifying the priority health and quality of life issues facing our region,” said Patricia Charvat, MVHS Senior Vice President, Marketing & Strategy.  "We look forward to working with members of our communities, Rome Health and the Oneida County Health Department to not only identify but address our communities’ healthcare needs."

“Healthcare organizations and community agencies depend upon this important feedback to help inform and shape our strategic plans to best meet the community needs,” said Cassie Winter Rome Health Vice President Communications/Marketing. “By collaborating around the priorities that emerge, we are able to collectively improve the health of the communities we serve.”
