Description
This position involves engineering work of a moderately difficult caliber, involving the exercise of engineering judgement based on knowledge in both theory and practice of engineering principles. Major technical problems are discussed with higher-level engineers or Deputy Commissioners. Employees in this class exercise independent judgement in planning work details and technical decisions. The incumbent performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Either:
(A) Possession of Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely-related field; OR
(B) Possession of Associate’s Degree in civil or environmental engineering or a closely-related field AND two (2) years of experience involving civil or environmental engineering.

Degree(s) must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, the candidate must provide independent verification of equivalency.
