Description
The duties of employees in this class involve responsibility, during an assigned shift, for the overall efficient operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, including the facilities for the activated sludge process and solids disposal. The work is performed under general supervision of a higher-level operator. Supervision is exercised over the work of subordinate operators. The incumbent performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Grade 3A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate AND two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license at time of appointment. License must remain valid throughout appointment.
Notes
Verifiable part-time experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
