Health Officials Urge Early Vaccination Wherever Vaccine is Available
The Oneida County Health Department has been notified of a possible delay of 4-8 weeks in the shipment of flu vaccine, Director of Health Phyllis Ellis said today.

Special Immunization Clinic Scheduled
The Oneida County Health Department will hold a special Tdap immunization clinic on Friday, September 26th from 4-6 pm at the clinic located at 406 Elizabeth Street in Utica.

Health Department officials say 56 cases of Lyme disease have been confirmed in Oneida County so far this year, with more than thirty cases being reported in the month of July.

Oneida County Health Department officials said today that blue-green algae blooms, which could pose a health risk to people and pets exposed to large quantities of the algae, have been found in parts of Oneida Lake.

The Oneida County Health Department is urging residents impacted by recent flooding conditions to take precautions when dealing with flood waters resulting from the heavy rains and overflow conditions.

A multi-phase project which partners the Oneida County Health Department’s Lead Primary Prevention Program with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and designed to transform vacant lots into community gardens and park spaces now offers an interactive website which will allow users to find information about a specific garden and contact information if they wish to join.
