Oneida County Office Building Visitor Parking Lot to Temporarily Close for Improvements

Oneida County is advising the public that the visitor parking lot at the Oneida County Office Building will temporarily close beginning Sept. 23, to allow for improvements to the parking lot and installation of new traffic gates.

The work is expected to take approximately one week, with the parking lot tentatively scheduled to reopen on Sept. 30, pending completion of the traffic gate installation and any remaining work.

During the closure, visitors to the County Office Building can park in the staff parking lot located across the street from its 800 Park Avenue location. That lot is accessible from John Street and will be temporarily divided, with visitor parking designated on the south end and employee parking on the north end.

The improvements to the visitor parking lot will include pavement and concrete work, installation of bollards and granite curbing, conduit work and asphalt repairs and resurfacing.

“We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation while this important work is completed at the County Office Building,” said County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “We recognize that the temporary parking changes may cause some inconvenience, and we have made alternate parking available across the street to help minimize the impact on visitors.”
